This masterfully painting depicts the family of Italian shepherds and their flock of sheep stopping for a rest. It was executed 1890 by well- renowned Hungarian artist Andreas (Andras) Marko (1824 Vienna - 1895 Villa Tivoli by Rome). He originates from the famous painter family Marko: Carlo Marko senior (1791-1860) and his children (Karoly, Andreas, Ferenc and Katalin). Andreas Marko studied by his father, one of the most renown Hungarian romantic landscape painter Carlo Marko and later in the Vienna Academy by Carl Rahl. He worked many years in Italy and his italian landscapes situated in different famous museums: Bologna, Budapest, Florence, Vienna.
