Early 19th century gouache with view of the eruption of Vesuvius was executed by Good quoted Neapolitan painter, publisher and bookseller Giorgio Glass. He was primarily in Naples between 1805 and 1850.  Style and Subjects: Main technique: Gouache and tempera on paper. Typical subjects: Volcanic eruptions of Vesuvius and panoramic views of Campania (such as Caserta, Capodimonte, and Nisita).

His Neapolitan gouaches arrive high results until 20000 €. 

Inscription: titled in Italian in the middle under image: Eruzione del 1811; signed in Italian on the right under image: ... Giorgio Glass a Napoli.

Technique: gouache on paper, antique wooden frame.

Measurements: only image w 17 1/8" x h 14"( 43,5 x 30,5 cm),  in passpartout and framed 23 3/8" x 17 7/8" ( 59,5 x 45,5 cm ). 

Condition: very good.
