This masterfully oil miniature on copper depicts portrait of a young wigged nobleman and was executed around 1680-1700. This work have all stilistic criteria of famous French portrait painter from the turn of the 18th century, Hyacinthe Rigaud  (1659-1743). We attributed this work to his hand or to a painter from his studio.

Technique: oil on cooper, painted in oval, l frame of later period.

Measurements: only image w 4 1/8" x h 5 1/2" (10,5 x 14 cm), framed 6 7/8" x 7 7/8" (17,5 x 20 cm).

Condition: very good.
