Seascape by Catalan listed painter Julio García Gutiérrez (Paris, 1882 — Barcelona, 1966).

Settled in Barcelona from a very young age, where he exhibited regularly from 1918, he was director of the Barcelona School of Fine Arts (1940-42) and of the School of Arts and Artistic Crafts (1940-46). In 1949 he exhibited, with success, in Buenos Aires. He cultivated a type of fiery and solitary marine that, despite its conventionalism, made him quite popular.
