Masterfully landscape painting with snow-covered forest was executed in 1991 by famous Russian landscape genre and still life painter Oleg Aleksandrovich Borozdin (1929, Nyandoma, Northern Territory, USSR – 2016, Vologda, Russian Federation). He was  was a Soviet and Russian painter, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation since 2002, member of the Union of Artists of Russia since 1965, laureate of the State Prize of the Vologda Region (2005), and honorary citizen of Nyandoma, Arkhangelsk Region.

In 1948, Oleg Borozdin entered the Yaroslavl Art School, where he studied under Mikhail Kichigin, and graduated with honors in 1955. After graduating, he moved to Vologda, the hometown of his wife, artist Elena Sergeevna, daughter of the Vologda graphic artist Sergei Vasilyevich Kulakov.

Oleg Alexandrovich Borozdin actively participated in the artistic process, creating numerous sketches and paintings. One of the first works shown at the exhibition was a historical painting, "Uprising in Veliky Ustyug" ("Salt Riot"), co-authored with his father-in-law. Borozdin's solo anniversary exhibitions at the Vologda Regional Art Gallery in 1991, 1999, 2004, 2009, and 2014 brought him significant success with audiences and the attention of collectors. Vologda art historians A. N. Munin, G. V. Dementyeva, I. B. Balashova, and V. V. Voropanov have written about the artist. He has always been of considerable interest among Vologda's scholarly and artistic intelligentsia.

Borozdin's works are held in the Vologda Regional Art Gallery, the Vologda State Museum-Reserve, the E. M. Lunin Art Gallery in Cherepovets, and other museums in the region, as well as in the State Historical Museum, the Nyana House Museum of History and Local Lore in Nyandoma, Arkhangelsk Region, and in private collections in Russia and abroad.

Awards and titles:

Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2002).
Laureate of the State Prize of the Vologda Region (2005).
Honorary Citizen of Nyandoma, Arkhangelsk Region.
