This fine Biedermeier portrait of a  beauty was executed in 1847 by Austrian portrait painter, draftsman and photograph Carl Dietrich (1821 or 1823 - 1888). 
Austrian painter , draftsman and photograph. Until 1865 lived and worked in Graz. In 1865 settled in Vienna and worked as draftsman, painted especially Biedermeier portraits in order of nobility. 

Works by him are in the Museum LM Joanneum, Graz and in the New Gallery Saint  Leonhard.

Inscription: signed and dated 1847 vertical on the right edge; on the back of the canvas signed and inscribed again : " C. Dietrich pinx ( painted by ), Gratz on 20.July 1847“.

Technique: oil on canvas, original period gold-plated frame.

Measurements: unframed w 10 1/2" x h 12 5/8" ( 26,5 x 32 cm), framed 14 3/4" x 16 7/8"( 37,5 x 43 cm).

Condition: painting and frame are in good condition.
