Golden sunlight at sea, this Romanticist coastal scene ( probably Frwnch or Dutch coast) was executed round 1830-1840 and due to close similarities was attributed to the hand of French marine painter  Baron Theodor Gudin (1802-1880).

Inscription: unsigned.

Technique: oil on canvas, laid down on canvas again. Original period gilt frame.

Measurements: unframed 16 1/2" x 11" (42 x 28 cm), framed 26 3/8" x 20 7/8"(67 x 53 cm).

Condition: very good.
