Private life: He and his wife Franziska (Fanny) adopted the orphaned Marie Viktoria Liebenthaler. She grew up with them and later achieved great fame as the renowned opera singer Marie Wilt, performing Wagnerian roles at the Vienna Court Opera.
Artistic work: He created, for example, the altarpiece of St. Margaret (a copy after Raphael from 1832) in the parish church of Grillenberg.
