A pair Venetian views by well-renown Austrian landscape and architecture painter Carl (Karl) Kaufmann (1843-1905). He studied at Vienna Academy and was active in Vienna in the 1900s. His Venice, Rome and oriental cityscapes brought him the world glory.

Inscription: both signed with Kaufmnn's proved pseudonym Garnier, lower right.
Technique: oil on wood panels. Original period gilt frames.
Measurements: each unframed w 12 1/3" x h 7 1/8" (31,5 x 18 cm), each framed w 20 2/3" x h 15 3/8" (52,5 x 39 cm).
Condition: both are in good condition. |
