This magnificent still life with flowers in a porcelain vase was executed well-known and high-quoted  Belgian genre and still life artist François Antoine (Frans Antoon) de Bruycker (1816 Gent - 1882 Antwerpen). He studied in the Art Academy in Gent; since 1837 by Ferdinand de Braekeleer in Antwerpen. His most popular motives ( flower still lifes and genre scenes) were very popular among european collectors..The King of Württemberg bought in 1842 his painting "Der Verdacht".
