Highly qualitative portrait miniature of Tsarin Maria Feodorovna (1759-1828), wife of Russian Emperor Paul I ( 1754-1801). This miniature was executed in 19th century by unknown artist after portrait of Maria Feodorovna by Johann Baptist Lampi The Elder (1751 Triest - 1830 Vienna).
Tsarina Maria Feodorovna (1759-1828) in a white dress with lace sleeves, with a miniature portrait of Emperor Paul I suspended from a diamond necklace, wearing a red moire ribbon and the breast star of the Imperial Russian Order of St. Catherine.
Inscription: signed indistinctly lower right, on the back of the paper cover inscribe: Maria Feodorovna.
Technique: watercolour on ivory, original wooden black lacque frame with bronze inner oval.
Measurements: unframed 2 3/4" x 3 1/3" (7 x 8,7 cm), framed 3 2/3" x 4 2/3" (9,1 x 11,8 cm).
