Large-format and delicate icon Our Lady of Pokrov with Romanos Melodos, Russia, 18th century, egg tempera on gesso on wood, partially gilded. Upper half with depiction of Mary in Gioriole-protection and intercession, lower half with Romano's Melodos, important hymn poet of the eastern church. 

 Measurements: 14 3/4" x 17 1/2" (37,5 x 44,5 cm).

Condition: good condition for age.
