Miniature portrait with a fine, enamel-like touch in fresh colors, sign.&dated 1831 by German miniature painter Friedrich Droege (1801 Hanover - after 1854 London). Represented at the Berlin Academy exhibition from 1828 to 1830 with miniature paintings after Guido Reni, Sassoferrato, Caspar Netscher, and Willem van Mieris, and from 1832 to 1846 with his typical miniature portraits, especially of the Royal Prussian family. Droege was court painter to the King of Prussia. From 1851 to 1854 he lived in London and exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts.
