Portrait miniature of Louise von Herckes as bride was executed by Austrian portrait and miniature artist Franz Weigl (also Weigel). born in 1810 in Vienna and died 1842 in Vienna. He studied at the Vienna Academy and, between 1830-1842, regularly participated in academic exhibitions of St.Anna showing portraits. He also made copies after Viennese miniaturist Friedrich Johann Gottlieb Lieder and other artists. At the academic exhibition of 1830 he showed (among others) a watercolor portrait of composer Franz Schubert.
